Testing payments
On the sandbox environment, payments go to Stripe in test mode: nothing is charged, and you pay with one of the test cards below. Any future expiry date, any CVC and any postal code are accepted.
Card numbers are written in groups of four here for readability — type them without spaces.
Cards that succeed
| Number | Brand | What happens |
|---|---|---|
4242 4242 4242 4242 | Visa | Payment succeeds straight away — the one to use for a happy path |
5555 5555 5555 4444 | Mastercard | Payment succeeds |
3782 822463 10005 | American Express | Payment succeeds (4-digit CVC) |
4000 0025 0000 3155 | Visa | 3D Secure authentication is requested, then the payment succeeds |
Cards that fail
| Number | What happens |
|---|---|
4000 0000 0000 0002 | Declined — generic |
4000 0000 0000 9995 | Declined — insufficient funds |
4000 0000 0000 0069 | Declined — expired card |
4000 0000 0000 0127 | Declined — incorrect CVC |
4000 0000 0000 0119 | Declined — processing error at the bank |
4100 0000 0000 0019 | Blocked — flagged as fraudulent |
Stripe keeps the exhaustive list, including cards per country and per decline code, in its testing reference.
warning
These cards only work in test mode. On a production environment the payment goes to a real bank with a real card, and the money moves.
Bank transfers
Fintecture runs its own sandbox, with test banks and their own credentials. Ask us if you need to run a bank transfer end to end.
